Oh sweetie, you again?

Fuck off, you condescending prick.

You do you, OP. I disagree with almost everything about this secret. I mean, I do not love the grimdark trend. But TLJ was the best of the sequels because it was original. It still had that Star Wars sense of hope to it, so I wouldn't call it fully grimdark.

Just being ~original~ (which is extremely debatable in itself here -it wasn't actually as original as a lot of stans like to pretend) doesn't automatically mean something is good, though.

That is true. I think it is both original and good. It does have issues, but then again, none of the Star Wars movies are perfect, even the OT. I think TFA is not original at all and is just okay. I think TROS is both original and really terrible. But to each their own. That's just my personal take.

Star Wars for people who hated Star Wars and hated Star Wars fans. Star Wars for trolls.

You really can't handle people liking different things than you. No, in fact, plenty of Star Wars fans love TLJ.

TLJ was so so so hopeful. I cannot understand how people cannot see it

(Anonymous) 2024-12-16 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-17 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. It was a total recycle of ANH but in a way that felt satisfying and fun. The next two failed to be satisfying or fun for me. And this is one of only two places I’ve ever seen fans of either TLJ or TROS, the other one being an all women’s Facebook Star Wars group that’s full of toxic positivity and encouraging self destructive behaviors under the guise of empowerment.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-17 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah agreed. I had a lot of fun with The Force Awakens which I didn't for the other two, TLJ was so fucking boring and TRoS made me laugh for all the wrong reasons, but I didn't find either of them enjoyable at all like I did the first. It's a shame because I thought the trilogy went off to a good start but it immediately went south, but that's what happens when there was no goddamn plan for the story of a set of movies.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-17 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I liked TFA, but it was a nonsensical rehash of ANH.

For the second part of the trilogy (which is where everything gets Worse), TLJ is extremely hopeful. I don't understand the grimdark accusations.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-17 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I liked TFA the best for sure too cause I think it felt the most 'star wars' I guess if one were to put it so simply.

Tho I think calling TLJ the worst of the sequel movies is wild when RoS is out there existing. I found TLJ actually pretty entertaining, though perhaps unintentionally so. RoS doesn't really have any redeeming factors on the other hand tbh.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-17 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
I agree. I was so excited for the movie, and very interested in the things it set up. . .and then they tanked that trilogy so hard. The other two movies made for some good visuals, but that's about it.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-17 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
That's how I see it as well, I don't mind some things from the later movies, but Force Awakens was a great new start. I don't actually mind that they went with the formula of starting in Tatooine and orphan destined to be great. I do wish they had stick with Rey being a nobody, thought.

Preach it!

I feel like I'm the only star wars fan who genuinely loves ALL of the movies, and always has. They are all special to me, in different ways, from different parts of my life. I haven't seen Solo or any of the TV shows but I love them all.

(Anonymous) 2024-12-18 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
I love all of them except TROS. I do love Solo and the tv shows as well, though. And much of the EU.
