You do you, OP. I disagree with almost everything about this secret. I mean, I do not love the grimdark trend. But TLJ was the best of the sequels because it was original. It still had that Star Wars sense of hope to it, so I wouldn't call it fully grimdark.

I liked the fact that is a different Medicine Seller from the Bake Neko/Mononoke. https://x.com/nacch_an/status/1845313538849390977

But I can see why it was a sensory overload. The first Mononoke had muted colors and this one everything was shiny and the camera moving and all. At least in my case I want to see more of Kamiya's Kusuri-uri.

That is a kind of interesting concept, I agree, and I would love to see this world building expanded upon on screen. I just really wasn't a fan of the style choices in the movie. Also, all the screaming/screeching. It was seriously too much. I also didn't really warm up to the overall plot, I have to admit.

Good on you for supporting cosplayers, OP. They worked hard for that photoshoot, and probably spent way too much for it.

From the secret-maker's image I wanted to assume Estes Park but a lake, not mountains, and lots of genre cons at the location...probably not. Either way keep loving them and if one passes your desk, tell them they look good. That's all a lot of cosplayers need, is to be seen. I spent most of DragonCon just telling people in crowded areas how amazing they looked, and the way their faces lit up, I could tell it meant more than trying to get a photo.

I mean, you're not wrong, since most people who enjoy anthro characters in media back way the fuck off when they see the cartoon-eyed mascot costume in person.

otoh there are a few properties where the demihuman characters are designed well and look very realistic, like the kobold-dogs in early Suikoden. There's no cartoonishness involved, you can see how they would be very real and interesting to talk to as beings. Maybe fuckable, maybe not, but at least there's a few media properties actually trying. See also: the live action One Piece, while dropping so many balls, actually managed to make realistic-looking fishmen who were also accurate to Oda's drawings. It's not impossible, but it is rare.

I'm all for sexy characters, but after playing with way too many people who go "let me far-too-excitedly describe my character's body parts to you" or insist I look at how their slutmog is breasting boobily... yeah, I get it.

"Sexy" and "overtly sexualized in a particular way to fit a specific player's kinks" are different things.
