Same. My musical taste is...music that I like. I dunno how else to describe it. I don't care about genres or artists. If I like it, I like it.

Sure. But if you look at the "music you like", surely you'd see the genres and all? this is like saying "I'm too lazy to describe what I like"

If I go looking up what other people say the genre is. I don't know what it is when I hear it other than very high level stuff (country - rap - classical - etc). People are like, do you like new wave neo-punk death metal? And I have no idea what that would even sound like. Maybe? Here's a list of all the songs I've got saved that I like, and see if whatever it is you said is in there.

DA - same. I often search songs I like to see what genre it is labeled as if I want to participate in those types of discussions.

da

Yeah, seriously. I find music classification both a pain, and mostly useless in terms of seeking out other music that I (hopefully) will like. Whatever genre-definers seem to be judging it by, that really doesn't seem to have anything to do with what appeals to me.

It's frustrating because there are other things where keyword-searching actually gets me practical definitions of "similar," but not here.

I think you missed the part where OP isn't taking it seriously. It's easy to just not care about what you like or why you like it. Everything comes down to vibes and we aren't spending any brain power on why we vibe with something.
