It takes literally nothing other than the ability to type to go "eww [whatever]" on the internet. And seeing that does not constitute oppression. I'm not going to rule out that you've encountered fandom heterophobia, just because it's never happened to me, but I'll admit that I have no experience with what you're referencing and I'm skeptical about it.

"If we stop oppressing gay people, the day will come when they make poor, straight kids feel bad about themselves for not engaging in depravity!! And pressure all boys into being anally raped!!" was something I heard a million times from people who argued applying the word "marriage" to a long term relationship between two men was going to RUIN heterosexuals' ability to be happily straight-married.

No subset of the population is "too pure" to become bullies, but the fact that there's nothing wrong with same-sex attraction doesn't mean there's any competition between it and M/F. People who think it does seem like they'd be equal and opposite to the bigots insisting that terrorizing gays was socially necessary ... but I've never met a gay person in real life who thinks there's any upside for them to feuding like that.

Also, who here has noticed that extreme white supremacists and extreme "antiracists" are both vocally opposed to interracial relationships, although they disagree about which party is being harmed? Because "now het is problematic" strikes me as about the same variety of crazy.

I usually buy a tree ornament every year and got a little plastic angel playing a trumpet at the start of December.
Also, I have the same angel for the top of the tree from before I was born which my Mum made out of a sewing doll and glued the fabric onto her. Other than replacing the gold cardboard wings last year, it's still going strong after 35 years - so it's definitely my favorite decoration.

This; I'd love to get into it, but every story seems the exact same. It's like the glut of MMO-style isekai all over again.

There's a youtuber who I follow and make really amazing media essay videos that just hit the mark. She still posts videos, but she also keeps deleting her videos and its always the ones I like the most :( I could understand the age restricted videos getting removed, but the Moral Orel video getting deleted because she didn't like it any more was a bummer.
She also just released a video about an obscure penguin anime movie that I had managed to watch and thought was really good - but she took it down because it didn't get enough traction after posting it and pretty much everyone in the community tab was commenting how they hadn't gotten round to watching it with half saying that they've been busy working in the holiday season.

Anything that relied on Flash; I'm happy as much of Homestar Runner got preserved as it did, but there's hundreds of sbemails that didn't seem to make it. And that's just the one that's top of mind.

Several years ago I got into watching cdramas and yeah, same. I love the setting and all the aspects of world building you described, but most of them are just... really flawed in ways that I don't like. Crappy writing, tropes I dislike, weird sexism, samey plots, etc. I've struggled with novel translations and gave up due to a combination of bad writing, poor translation and all the above problems that plague cdramas.

My aspiration is to write my own original stories and basically create the type of story I want to read (found family, adventure, female characters who don't suck), but that would require me getting my shit together in a way that seems a little out of reach right now.
