Yeah, I really do think the right Zuko ship won out. Mai and Zuko are so amazingly complementary to each other, and I get all warm and mushy whenever I see them together. Probably doesn't hurt that Mai's more or less my ideal woman in so many ways.

The Zuko/Mai pairing is the only Avatar pairing(adults excepted) I can barely tolerate without feeling intensely weirded out. Actually, it still weirds me out. I accept canon ships as a statement of fact, but if I can't bring myself to think about them for more than couple of seconds. I feel it's simply the age thing- the main characters range from 12-16 and for some reason (probably the artwork/marketing) makes everyone feel so... young. Zuko and Mai are on the older end of the spectrum, but still. They are just kids D:

I think both of them are too extreme, honestly. Mai is TOO unemotional, and Zuko is too emotional. It's okay to strike a balance. My best friend feels the same way, she is very emotional and easily gets angry. But it's not right to want to not feel at all. Don't be ashamed of yourself, OP.

I don't really get the pairing, myself, but I don't hate it, either.

I don't quite get how you can see Mai as too unemotional. If anything, when she's with Zuko, her emotions come into light. And with Zuko, he seems to find some balance when he's around Mai.

Not a Zuko fan at all, but I loved Mai. And even though I really don't care much for Zuko I was glad to see him happy with Mai. I love them together. They balance and seem to care for each other. Zuko getting all dreamy over Mai in TBR was great and Mai's sacrifice for him reminds me of the other people who have loved him and made great sacrifices for him (his mom and Iroh).

While there was some things I was none too happy about the way the pairing was written, I still ship it; though I would NEVER date anyone like them in real life. I like them (Mai is one of my favorite characters) but yeah, I'd like someone that might have a mix of both of their good qualities!
