Anyone else notice that when a Katara x Zuko fan posts a secret about not liking the ending they get mocked for being bitter because their self-insert fantasy didn't come true? But when a Mai x Zuko fan posts a secret about being pleased their pairing was canon because it was a self-insert fantasy, the same crowd goes awwwww, adorable?

Rampant hypocrisy knows no bounds in Avatar fandom, particularly among the "canon" shippers.

I'm sorry, but did the definition of hypocrisy change in the last fifteen minutes? Last I checked canon shippers had nothing to do with how the show ended. That was completely Mike and Bryan's doing, so how is it self-insert. Identifying with the characters and self-insertion are two different things.

Please don't lump canon shippers into a pile with rabid Zutara shippers. That's insulting.

Excessive identification and self-insertion aren't so different in this situation.

If a Zutarian were to post something like this, they would be complimented on shipping something outside of the box and original, but when a Maikoian does it, they're nuts? Am I missing something, here?
