And I've never even heard of that. I'm sure there are employers who secretly have it in their minds that hiring a man is more beneficial than hiring a woman, but many women have rose up against such people and have become leaders of fortune 500 companies.
Clearly there was a change and therefore, women pretty much CAN achieve such high statuses without whining about being oppressed.

Well, I think it's fair to say that there is still some oppression, even in today's society, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Sometimes I think we focus too much on the negative :/

Just a random fyi: there have been some pretty conclusive tests done that show if you hand in a resume for a standard job (lets say, IDK, office??), you're more likely to get a call back if your first name is ambiguous, or just a falsely given male name. Same goes for names that "sound" white vs black.

I've heard that before, actually. Something similar, that women with male-sounding names get higher in the job ranks. Huh.

They can achieve high status, but surely you know how rare it is in proportion, compared to men? There's this thing called the glass ceiling...and you'll probably find out about it first-hand when you're older, sadly.
