I don't think they're comparable. The modern version of Scrooge would be more like the head of a local branch of some big company. Rich, but nowhere within the scope of a billionaire.

Yeah, I read A Christmas Carol the previous days, and realized the story would not apply to the billionaires of our era.

A boss of a local branch of some big company makes more sense, since they'd still see the suffering around them and feel enough guilt to redeem themselves... whereas a billionaire is a conemporary-era french nobility that have never suffered poverty of any kind in their whole existence to care.
