DA I’ve been hearing about this for like a week or two. My understanding, and google seems to confirm it, is that in a single universe setting, Discovery is decanonized. But it’s possible that we’re only seeing part of a multiverse and Star Trek does have a history of using multiverses. So basically anyone can say it’s canon and be correct and anyone can say it isn’t canon and be correct.

I suspect this was intentional because canceling it would have caused a shitstorm but it’s an objectively bad series with poor reviews and even worse viewing figures. I’m not really sure how they can sever Discovery without severing SNW though. I know when SNW has been brought on FS before people hated it but it’s done well with critics and very well with audiences.
