I'm sorry OP.

Honestly, I don't like to tell people specific things I want as a gift because I usually don't tend to get what I want. Instead I always get something slightly related to the specific thing I want. So I give people loose gift ideas. Like this year on my wish list I wrote down "skincare products, nail polish, hair clips" so that my friends and family can do as much or as little as they want.

If I had requested for the exact brand of toner or face cream I want, I would likely get brands that I don't like and it would piss me the fuck off that I asked for something specific to get not that.
Whereas "skincare products", if they get me a toner or face cream of a brand I don't use I can at least be grateful they got me skincare products.

The only time I ask for something specific is when it's someone I know who can be depended on to get me exactly what I want.
