I wish more media acknowledged this and went hard on how a man's enthusiasm for children is a fairly modest investment compared to a woman's. IMO, a lot of men like the idea of having kids because they think of all the fun stuff, plus the emotional impact of continuing your name, etc. They don't think of the physical hardship of pregnancy and birth, the risk, the physical and emotional toll afterwards, how it can derail a woman's career permanently, how vulnerable it makes her, etc. etc. And that's all before you start the everyday work of parenting, which is also largely done by women, still.
