she used to be in these hair dye commercials where she would make random women get dye jobs and they always looked better before.

Big same. I remember when she made the switch in hair style and the glow up was amazing.

She did have just the most gorgeous hair.

Trust me, anon, as someone who has that kind of hair, you really don't want it. It's a pain to take care of, and good luck finding someone who knows how to cut and style it properly.

not OP, but it's a hassle to care for my fine oily hair AND THEY LOOK UGLY AF

You can have mine. I shave my head to avoid the hassle of dealing with curls.

Seriously. I keep mine about chin-length and I've had SO many people tell me that I should grow it out because it would be so pretty.

Sure, if you wanna be the one to take care of it for me because I sure as hell don't. It's bad enough even as short as it is.

+1

I've never grown it out much longer than shoulder length. I keep my hair shaved or very short most of the time.

OP, I felt the same about Nyssa's hair. (Dr. Who companion, Peter Davison era.) I wanted hair like Nyssa's so bad. Then one day I realized -- Nyssa (or Elaine, or Carrie) doesn't have that kind of hair, either. Those big bouncy curls on screen are produced and maintained by a bevy of professional stylists, which most folks can't reproduce in their own homes.

I figure we can admire and enjoy the fantasy, but trying to live up to it is an exercise in frustration.
