How do ya feel about East Asian Dragons (Chinese/japanese) ?

I think I’m pretty similar. I did like reading The Enchanted Forest Chronicles with my niece (Dealing with Dragons, etc).

The whole “princess kidnaps herself and runs away to live with dragons” was a fun twist on the classic tropes. But I don’t think I ever cared much about the dragons themselves.

Good question. As I tried to think of faves, I was just coming up with idiosyncratic one-offs. Not “dragons” or “werewolves” or “fairies”. I think maybe I just don’t get psyched up about the type of creature?

I love dragons, but hate it when they have completely human forms instead of a humanoid dragon/lizard one. Make them human sized, sure, but at least keep them scaly!

What are your favorite magical/mythical creatures or beings?

Mmmh good question. I guess Lamias are cool. I like the aesthetic. Also mermaids. I was a huge Little Mermaid fan (even pre-Disney era) and I kinda like the aesthetic, specially when applied to other characters in fanart. Mmh I'm sensing a pattern here...

Anyway! Yeah, I kinda like the scale aesthetics. It's just that I feel dragons are overused.

What about you, nonny? Any favorite creatures?

Dragons are the most interesting to me when they're either HUGE dangerous monsters or hyper inteligent political players. Basically I want Godzilla or Lofwyr. And never the twain shall meet! Riding dragons does nothing for me.
