For anyone who needs a vent.

Everyone here will be closed tomorrow and most will be closed Friday too. And yet, my office is insisting we won't know for sure whether we'll be open or not tomorrow until 7AM. Really annoying.

Also, had an awful judge today. She decided that because I refused to do something that would have been potentially detrimental to my client in the future, that meant I didn't know the law and was an idiot. She was just generally mean and I hope I don't have too many cases before her. I feel bad for my client.

Is the closing due to weather?

Sounds like that judge is on a stereotype power trip. People like that are so frustrating. I hope you don't have to deal with her much going forward.

We're getting a major (for Texas) snow storm tomorrow and into Friday.

And yes, some judges are just bad. And it is our clients that get the short end of the stick and end up suffering. It makes me so frustrated and angry.

My house has been without any running water since Monday and I am over it. I feel gross and grimy and hate having to go to work without having a shower. It is a city wide problem and the city said it would be back on yesterday and while some houses got some water, we are still without it over 24hrs after they said it was back on.

Nothing really to do but wait. I'm just grumpy because I feel yuck and because no running water makes my job a huge pain in the butt.

Oh no, that really sucks. I'm so, so sorry nonny. I really hope you get water back soon.

Ty! I am keeping my fingers crossed it is back on in the morning. I just got a text from a friend a few miles away that theirs just came back on, so there is hope!

Oh, frustrating. Can you possibly get any no-rinse shampoo and body wash? They can feel a bit strange too but at least you don't feel grimy.

I've been doing a sort of 'camp shower' set up - bottled water and soap for the body, so it's honestly mostly just the hair at this point. If it isn't back on in the morning my plan is to get up early and hit the stores for a dry or no-rinse shampoo.

this guy who works in my apt bldg is an idiot. his latest fuckup is announcing some event on "Monday Jan. 9th".

Of which year? ;)

Today is January 9th but it's not Monday.

Local blood donation company called me about donating platelets (I think) but that would require me to drive to a permanent location instead of mobile drive. I looked it up and the nearest one is over an hour away! So that would be like a five hour process with travel and I just can't do that. I know they are gonna keep calling me about it but....just can't do it.

I constantly get calls and emails from the Red Cross, asking me to donate. Problem is, most of the sites are 30 minutes or more away, or on post, where I can't go. The closest permanent blood donation site is like...over an hour away. It's so frustrating. I just got to where I *can* donate - anemia issues - and now it's turning out to be almost impossible.

My local Red Cross is always contacting people, but the nearest centre is an hour away and I can never get a clear answer as to whether I can donate or not. (I had a malignant cancer so usually not, but then they say possibly? But no answers on my other condition.)

I'm so tired of being asked what I'm doing after this contract is over. Unless you're offering me a job, can I please just bedrot for a bit???

1. My dog did bad in our obedience class tonight. She didn't, like, bite anybody, but she had a lot of trouble heeling and staying because of all the other dogs in the class. I don't have any other pets, so she isn't used to all that extra stimulation. I know it's at least partly in my head, but it feels like everybody else has got it down pat and I'm the only one struggling to teach my dog. :/

2. My best friend won't stop asking me if I've heard the latest things Trump has said and then telling me about them. I'm already so fucking sick of that man. Also, he says SO much bullshit that I can't process it all. Unless he's actually invading Greenland or Canada, I'm ignoring it.

That movie Colin Farrell mentioned in his speech at the Golden Globes on Monday that had Andrew Scott in it as well 'leaked' this week (even though Colin joked that it didn't exist. It does as I happened to see a post on Reddit saying it belonged to a film archive). Some guy on Letterboxd said 'oh I have it on my Youtube' but it was gone within an hour so I never saw it :( looked to see it if it was uploaded elsewhere like Internet Archive, nope it wasn't. All I've seen are some grainy screencaps. Serious FOMO from not seeing it. Not in the fandom due to social anxiety so I can't ask if anyone saved it when it was uploaded. That's my vent for today lol.

Crisis averted, found a link on Reddit :) haha. no more FOMO

My period is late. I am not afraid of being pregnant, my name isn't Mary. But that makes me nervous and it makes my anxiety really fucking bad. I would like to go sleeping without thinking that we all going to die ffs

I'm on a five week cycle so I'm Always late, but it's just so messy.

I have fibroids and atm am wearing a pad to bed as a just in case scenario.

Stress can cause your body to skip/delay a period.

My periods were more or less regular for 2 years but these past 4-ish months I've noticed it arriving later every month.

I'm so sick of being sick. =(

I caught a cold around Thanksgiving (late November), and that POS illness took until mid-December to leave my system fully.
Cut to New Year's Eve, and I caught whatever cold/flu that the rest of the household has.

Barely like, a week of feeling sort of OK and now I'm back to taking meds constantly, drinking war/hot beverages, so much fucking coughing and hacking up mucus, sore throat, constant fear that my tonsils will flare up.

Just, so fucking sick of being sick.

Add in feeling this pressure not to call into work since the new year just started. Don't want to use up all my sick days right away. No one on my shift can cover my role.

On the plus side, I'd already signed up for having all of next week off weeks ago, so hopefully that week off will give me time to rest.

I literally just want to spend my time off work resting.

Starting the day before New Year's Eve, my housemate who doesn't pay her fair share blew half the fuses plugging in her new electric car. She called an electrician and he fixed it.

On New Year's Eve her bathroom sink water supply blew up and flooded the house. I bought replacement hoses and shutoff valves and removed the old one, she put the new one in.

Bur her water heater stopped working because there was an uncapped sewer cleanout next to it that flooded under the house with sewage, and then I capped the cleanout, put pine sawdust pellets in the mire, vacuumed the water heater closet, got it relit, and she did a load of laundry, which flooded her bathroom and mine with sewage.

She called a plumber who snaked from her bathroom to mine but not all the way to the street, so her drains all drain fine... into my bathroom.

She's gonna hire a plumber with a longer snake (not a euphemism) on Friday when we're both off.

I went to buy drano yesterday and faceplanted off a curb into a parking lot. Guess who has two black eyes, a bathtub full of sewage, and two showers in the last nine days?
