You know, I remember when DW came about there was a big group of LJ people that didn't want to switch because they didn't like Denise but for the life of me I can't remember why.

And see, I clearly wasn't finding the relevant discussions, because I never got what specifically was supposed to be going on, if there was controversy around how Denise did things or wanted to do things.

Not that I've had reasons to gripe about Dreamwidth, aside from its not developing the weird ubiquity that LiveJournal once had. At a liberal arts university in the early aughts, practically every member of the student body and a sizeable minority of the professors had LJ active, frequently updated personal accounts. After the crash and burn with strikethrough, almost no one from the circles I had in-person contact with pulled up stakes and came here.
