I get that, about DI Poole. I didn't mind him so much at the time, but it was so much nicer when the next two detectives weren't constantly miserable about being there.

Agreed. That's why I liked Humphrey and DI Mooney in particular. It was just so, so refreshing to see someone who wasn't acting like living in a beach hut in an island paradise was like medieval torture.
