Yeah. He was one weird dude, but he really owned it, and I admired him for it - even his projects that I couldn't get into.

I'm so fucking gutted. My late Dad got me into his stuff when I was a teenager and we really bonded over it. He showed me Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive and the first season of Twin Peaks and I remember he was so overjoyed to have someone to discuss them with because no one else in the family was into his stuff.

He was one of a kind, and I'll be raising a glass to him tonight.

We were going to have corned beef and cabbage, but we realized it would be a migraine trigger. So ordered from Ihop instead. I got a burger, mom got an omlette.

My brother-in-law made perfectly rare steaks. We had mashed potatoes, gravy, rice, pepper sauce, fries and homemade lemonade to go with them.

I wanted to make a simple bagged salad with boiled eggs and croutons but got lazy. Maybe I'll make it for lunch tomorrow with some of the leftover steak.

It was GOING to be Chinese, as that is my regular birthday meal...but the restaurant we go to is closed until March.

So, it was fried chicken and an ice cream cake, instead. >_>

I bought a warm air humidifier and my bedroom is 100x warmer and I love it. When I open the door it is like walking into a tropical forest, so humid and warm. No more dry winter air. A++ do reccomend.

The bed I got my cat for our anniversary in November. She loves it. Sleeps on it any time we're all in the living room.

I scored a brand new, ankle length, warm and stylish trench coat, with pockets, in my size from a thrift store the other day. I'm riding this high for the rest of the week.

Probably the dutch ovens I got from Costco. It's nice finally having proper cookware I can cover (without waste) and put in the oven. Made a nice pot roast on my own for the first time.

Bras that actually fit.

I went through some weight fluctuations and have spent years making do with two layers of badly fitting sports bras.

Finally saw a sale and used it as an excuse to buy a couple underwire bras that fit.

It’s making such a difference. I feel physically more comfortable, I feel less awkward in my clothes, I’m walking so much more.

On Christmas Eve I found a cherrywood executive desk in chippendale style on FB marketplace. I absolutely love it and it’s already a strong contender for my favorite thing ever! It’s so pretty and such a simple, classic, and classy design. But I think my favorite thing about it is not having to hide it up against a wall. It’s just sitting in the middle of the room which actually frees up so much space and it looks fab.

One of those little countertop egg cookers where you can make hard boiled eggs by steaming them. It sounds dumb, but honestly, I've used it several times already over the past two weeks because you can have soft/medium/hard cooked eggs in less than 15 minutes, and no need to boil the water for them.

My local Goodwill is usually cleaned out of good clothes before they even make it to shops, between them having online listings and resellers hitting up their sorting depots before donations go to their stores.

But sometimes they still have cool non-clothes stuff and I scored a blue Le Creuset covered braiser. It was $60 but in basically new condition and new I guess they're $400. I don't eat meat, which is what I associate braising with, but it looks like it'd make awesome dumplings or maybe even stovetop cobbler.

I have a Le Creuset dutch oven and small nonstick frying pan in the same color, and I wonder if I can pick up a whole set piecemeal secondhand if I hunt long enough.
