WDYM "make sense as bottoms"? Is this more sex positions = personality stuff, or?

Wasn’t going to say it, because I’m so tired of the back and forth wank over this kind of thing, but that ^ was exactly my first thought

yup

Well, maybe they mean they don't like villains with toxic masculinity. But probably I am too charitable

I assumed this too, there definitely are villains who would be too insecure and toxic masc to make sense as bottoms, willingly at any rate. Depending on what genre your fandoms are in, there are plenty of villains who, if even slashable, would probably be the "I'm totally Not Gay if I'm the top" toxic masc homophobic type which are certainly also a trope. A lot of fighting/action/sports movies and shows are like that

I read this secret as OP going "not those"

Well obviously I can't blanket-statement every ship that has ever been conjured up in fandom - but it only really bugs me when people re-create a character's personality to 'fit' being a top/bottom.
For example, a character being woobified to be more cutesy to be the 'bottom' when their personality is the opposite (and of course you can have any type of personality while having a preference to top/bottom).

I read it more neutrally, like shippable with a male character that the OP can picture him bottoming to, plus bottoming is a trait that OP can see the character having. Which is pretty innocent if you don't make it into an over exaggerated personality type, like saying you can see a character liking a certain food or band. But more exciting to imagine, lol.

I don't like the sex positions as personalities thing either. I get exaggerating them in PWP/smut-driven-plot fic for the sake of fantasy, but pretty much any other setting it comes across as too OOC and OTT for me.
