I don't care personally. I hate Trump and MAGAs, but all of my mainstream music is pirated and don't use streaming services, I just download albums from Soulseek and load the MP3s on my phone. These people are all rich anyway without streaming, I only buy from independant musicians on Bandcamp.

I don't care, either. "Which artist to boycott in order to be a virtuous leftist" is just ... not something I do.

If it were legal to withold taxes from the US military or go "no, I'm not funding Israel", I probably would, though. That and the surveillance state: it galls me that I can't choke the funding to oppressive data collection in the US, even after Snowden risked it all to expose that.

It's slacktivist IMO. I sympathize with being uncomfortable and choosing not to listen to artists who jumped on the MAGA train anymore, but say I deleted every mp3 of every right-leaning musician... Now what? How is this going to help me or anyone else that will be affected by his administration? Most celebrities just endorse whoever gives them a fat check (ex. Snoop Dog), in 2028 they'll probably forget this happened and endorse the Democratic nominee because they were funded. I don't have a loyalty to peopke in the entertainment industry, which is I pirate and torrent shows.

You're assuming OP is stopping right there. Of course the mere act of removing music from your collection doesn't directly *help* anyone. But if their support of a fascist bothers you, removing their music helps *you* be a little more honest about your values, and that's good if you want to be a person who helps others. It's only virtue signaling if you stop there. You can remove the music *and* support companies with DEI programs or donate to PP/ACLU/LGBTQ charities or call out bigoted behavior when you see it. It's not an either/or situation.

+1 considering how easy it was to google musician supporters, and how niche they are (country/gospel/rap), it's hard to take OP's post as more than "look how righteous I am".
