I thought Mr. Rogers was great, but I was trying to learn English as a second language at the time, so the combination of his having interesting things to say about a limited amount of subjects, often showing videos that illustrated what he was talking about (let's find out how bowling balls are made), and enunciating carefully and deliberately were all very helpful. And then I just found him interesting, with his puppets and earnest emphasis on unconditional love and his unusual plot twists in the trolley-land.

I can understand why you'd find him boring as he was just ... doing everything really slowly in a show that had minimal suspense or conflict, though. XD;
