There are only about a handful of John Hughes films I absolutely love and adore, most never did much for me.

This coming from a millenial who remembers the 90s better than the 80s (born in mid 80s).

His later films felt more like cash grabs. Most of his teen films were filled with assholes I couldn't relate to or root for.

But as an adult looking back at cinema and how our culture has been shaped, I do appreciate that his works put a more complicated light onto teens and young adults (but more teens than YA), and that media geared towards the youth can be taken seriously and have some depth in it.
