That really sucks that the experience wasn't good, but I think it's really caring and thoughtful of you OP to know what happened wasn't ideal for your child. And I think you're such a wonderful parent to keep trying to give them a better experience and to be interested in their interests.
That's the part that matters most.

I do hope you can go to another event and get good seats!
