Trump was never pro Russia. Sanctions started during his term. I don't see what other sanctions he could possibly impose. USA is not the ruler of the World and won't be able to stuff USD down everybody throat in future. EU is forced to buy expensive resources due to sanctions, meanwhile China prospers. I'd even think that WW3'd benefit USA, like it benefited from WW2.

true. But Russia always wanted peace, what it didn't want is NATO bases at her borders. Minsk agreements were just that, but Merkel admited that it was used to prepare for war. So I can't imagine what kind of agreements Russia gonna trust.

Ukraine signed a contract that it'll remain neutral in the 90s. During the Nuclear deal, that US initiated. Ukraine got a lot of money out of it, plus it had a shitton of factories, infrastructure, etc. And they received free gas from Russia for years. Trully I have no idea how they managed to live worse than Russia and with lower wages. But that's becides the point. Anyway, Zele's a lying liar because Ukraine signed to stay neutral in the 90s, then decades later it signed the Minsk agreements. Violated both. Zele also promised peace to his own people during the elections.

Btw, Crimea is all Russian speaking and people were really unhappy with Russian not being the second official language and with the armed coup. So I wouldn't dismiss their referendum as fake. But who knows.

I'm not against Ukrainians and I feel really sorry for the people caught in all of this, especially the people at the border regions. Politicians play with people's lives.

Also the reason I'm saying all this on FS is that I already typed this wall of text before reflecting on this.

What a load of BS. If you're talking about the 2019 sanction, this was all about gas. Other sanctions had been put in place way before his term. Then further international sanction and US sanctions were made after the NATO summit in 2022. Trump licked Putin's boots regularly throughout his first term. Just check his ridiculous statements about the guy and Russia.
