I have never seen it make a show better unless the other person was already a comedian or podcaster or entertainer themselves which is rarely the case.

Does this apply even if the other person only does this sort of thing part time? I've seen some entertainers who have day jobs be part of videos and absolutely run with it.

A part time entertainer who is successful at it when they do it is still someone who has proven they have the skills to be an entertainer so they count imo? Engaging an audience is a skill and most people do not have it and could not do it even part time.
