I don't remember when everyone suddenly becoming aware of vocal fry became a thing, but the complaining about it is more annoying than the vocal fry now

I don't think I even know what a vocal fry is? I've seen people complain about them but I'm not sure I've heard what it's meant to be honestly.

Huh. I’ve never mentioned it to anyone but vocal fry is one of the main reasons I’ll quit a podcast. A Blue Yeti, a pop filter, and mixer will run them maybe $200. If they can’t be bothered to produce at least the bare minimum in audio quality, I won’t help them generate revenue.

Most of the complainers are bots. And the vocal fry is digitally added. The algorithm rewards conflict so the more bots you draw, the more you profit.

Oh look it's me.

Sure, I've always liked Star Trek but I haven't watched any of the new ones. But I've been around fandom/cons for 25+ years and Older Fandom likes Dr. Who and terrible fantasy books from the 1970s (I do not). Young Fandom likes whatever anime just came out last month (I do not). My experience with current Baldur's Gate fans flashed me back so hard to 2006 that I almost hurt myself. Older Fandom talks about the glory days when the EU was considered part of Star Wars canon and Peter Jackson was just some horror movie guy, and that's just not me. It's a lonely place to be, when you're too wrinkled and fat to cosplay teenage boys anymore, but can't get with the other old farts reminiscing about Shatner.

Not caught up on this drama but I hate when youtubers and podcasters bring their friends and family on and assume you will like them because they like them. I have never seen it make a show better unless the other person was already a comedian or podcaster or entertainer themselves which is rarely the case.

They are entitled to bring on whoever they want, but are not entitled to fans sticking around if it's not fun. It goes both ways.

You're right and you should say it. My partner bounced within the first few pages because a character explains how to pronounce his name in dialogue, right after he introduces himself... also in dialogue.

Like, author, I get it, you want your readers to pronounce the name a certain way, but please.

Have you tried having a temp run of the tattoo, like getting a tattoo pen or henna to draw with and see how you like it for a short term? Maybe see if there's Anbu temp tattoos online?
Maybe trying it out to see how you'd feel about it on your body might help make your decision?
