same, though I like a lot of 90s-2000s era anime series so a lot of people there are in the 20-35 range

In a few of my TV show fandoms I'd say that they skewed younger and I was one of the older fans, though that didn't stop any of the immature arguments and drama.

But in parts of the Tolkien fandom I hang out in(the movies for fanfic and a little bit of meta, and meta stuff for the books) it seems to skew more to adults my age and older. I won't say there isn't any drama, as well: people, but it certainly doesn't seem to breach containment much.

My main fandom actually attracts a wide range of ages. New people are always getting into Tolkien. The newer adaptions definitely help. The fandom in general has always been pretty diverse, though.

+1, X-Men has a huge range of ages, from original fans in their late 70s down to kids who just saw the Deadpool movie even though it's R-rated.

I've got a lifelong one that I cycle in and out of hyperfixation with that has the BROADEST range-- the franchise has been around literally my whole life, came out when I was less than a year old, so there are plenty of people my parents' age who are die-hard fans because they were there when it was brand new, the people my age who grew up as sort of the first generation where it was present in our childhoods... and there are younger fans who are cases of 'my parents raised me with this thing from when they were young', but there was also just a new adaptation (non-film) that brought in a LOT of young fannish folk.

Con I was just at (specifically to meet one of the actors) had cosplayers of all ages, from the cool old grandpas to a couple of little kids (while some were potential 'my parents picked my costume' age, there was also a very avid little girl all of MAYBE eight years old.

I see mostly late teens and 20-somethings on Tumblr/Bsky/Discord, sometimes early or mid 30s.

I am secret's OP and my recent seem to attract moderately different crowd, but a lot of fans talk about uni or homework and it safe to assume this people are quite younger.

My fandom was once huge with lots of young adults. Now it's still kind of big, but we are all mid 30s to 50s. We still get new blood and sometimes we get younger people, but people under 25 yo are pretty rare nowadays.
