Lol
/asks for feedback
/gets feedback they don't like
/"I didn't ask you for your stupid opinion! Omg so rude I don't owe you anything, just dont watch if you hate me!"

This is a pattern I see with so many creators these days.

Or maybe people think that when a creator say something they're inviting viewers to comment (and criticize) when they just aren't.

DA

When you post anything to the internet you're inviting people to comment (and criticize) and a professional creator on youtube should know better than to expect differently.

When a creator makes a whole video saying something is not getting views and asks people to view them, people are going to explain why they haven't viewed them yet and what's stopping them from doing so.

This. I can't count the times some furniture refinished uploaded videos of hideous projects only to get majorly snippy when comments went anything other than gushing praise. You uploaded it and expect to make money from your content? Live with criticism.

ayrt

"asks people to view them" I didn't know about this part. That changes everything. Otherwise, no, I don't think posting something on the Internet, even for people who make it their job, invites criticism from any random person just like it doesn't in RL. That people do in another story. There are ways to make that clear though and lots of creators don't.

But they do. They're not some above-criticism holy figures, they're creators and if people think that what they create sucks, they're entitled to say it. Also, don't pretend like most creators don't actively ask people to comment. They don't get to ask for only positive feedback.
