Re: 1st person POV preferences

It's my favorite POV in original fiction, but I can't stand it in fanfic. For me, it works in books because I don't know what the character's "voice" is supposed to be like and if done well, it feels like you're sitting with a friend whose telling you a good story. The downside is that if I find the protagonist annoying and their story isn't interesting, I drop it much more quickly than third person POV.
