My kitten will NOT stay off the counters. What has worked for you guys who own cats in this community?

Have you tried tin foil?

Double-sided tape. Put it up for a few weeks, kitty will associate counter with sticky and not be interested.

Nothing. They go where they want, and if I need to use the counter for whatever, I wipe it down first.

Easier than trying to keep them off, plus cats like being up high, so it's just natural for them.

This is me mostly. We do use double-sided tape for the carpets because kitty likes to try to attack the sides of them, and mom doesn't like that.

Blockade the counters with tinfoil. Cats hate the feel of it. One of my cats stopped jumping up on the counters, but as he got bigger, he would stand on his back legs and stretch up to touch the edges of the counter with his front paw to check for tinfoil. Fortunately, he only ever checked in two spots, so we just had two pieces to go there.
