AYRT well yeah, I get that, and I certainly do have things that make me put down a book without further attempts. But it's the aggression that I specifically am confused by--I would equally find it weird if people started conversations about recipes with "I hate cilantro!" as opposed to, say, "Cilantro's not my thing."

I'm not sure that's a good analogy, though, because the secret isn't about books in general where OP just randomly blurted out how much they hate 2nd person. It's about one specific book, written in 2nd person, and they're talking about why they didn't finish it. So it's more like a discussion about salsa with cilantro in it and why a person tried a bite said salsa and then noped out of eating more.

Perfectly sensible, makes sense in the context, not at all aggressive.
