I get this. I gave up on this book because I didn't like the writing and wrote a review about that part but was so disappointed by all the homophobic reviews too. Someone else join me in being annoyed at how the characters talk in quips and things don't make sense.

Yeah, the characters didn't talk like real people at all, it was too...cutesy and "clever". Definitely annoying.
