Said it below but I would believe most people don't go out to be a bigot on purpose. I definitely have never gone out to be bigoted on purpose but have done and said bigoted things through accident and ignorance and people around me teaching me the wrong ideas.

Oh absolutely agree. But that's what the OP was asking, I assume. We don't know what we don't know and a lot of us grow up with bigoted views without even knowing it. But that's the point, you as an adult can look back and be like "yeah I was really ignorant at that point" and I just don't trust someone who doesn't have that ability to look back and say that. They are either still ignorant and bigoted or they are lying to themselves (or just others).

No right, I was agreeing, if that wasn't clear. Someone claiming "I have never even accidentally or ignorantly said or done anything bigoted" would signal purposeful ignorance to me because that isn't about intent, it's about actions.

Sorry I realized after I posted that I came off kind of aggressive but yeah I was agreeing and expanding. Or reiterating. I'm tired and should probably go to bed lol
