Lmaoo thats honestly my default for like 90% of all fic. I just turn my head off and assume this is all some magical fic universe where strange and inexplicable things happen.

Hell, not even fic, this is true for a huge number of canons in general. It's weird to me that OP is trying to act like this is somehow the sole jurisdiction of one particular genre.

I didn't read it that way, I read it more that it only bugs OP an unreasonable amount in this specific genre, not that it only happens in this genre.
