I hope that's enough to open peoples' eyes, but honestly, the last decade of American politics have taught me not to count on it. Trump gets away with saying awful shit, doing awful shit, lying about it and then doing it some more, and his supporters never hold him accountable for it. There's always someone else to blame for the stuff Trump said or did, it's not their misunderstood golden boy.

IMO, if endorsing and being a shit-weasel about Jan.6th attacks on police officers didn't make police unions across American endorse Harris, then it seems to me that they're prepared to look the other way and bend over. I can only speculate on their reasoning, but my guess is that it's similar to any other MAGAhead - Trump's racist, bigoted, hate speech is exactly what they like and they'll forgive everything else because of it. Or they're dumb enough to also believe he's a genius business man who'll bring down the price of gas and groceries with a wave of his magic wand, so they'll vote for him. Being a hateful racist bigot Nazi is just icing on the cake.

They're already getting mighty uncomfortable. The cops are pissed over pardoning the Jan 6 protestors because they're cop killers. Like, he's fucking them over. THEM. They're not gonna take it lying down, he's gonna cross the line.

Veterans' stuff got walked back tonight. They REALLY want to fuck veterans over, though. It's in the Heritage/Project2025 docs.

Basically, they want to strip everything to the bone so the very rich won't have to pay for anything besides things that will benefit THEM. They don't care about vets because they're mostly working class. They don't care about public schools or Medicaid recipients because same.

I know this isn't representative, but prior to the election I happened to be in a conversation with an older veteran who volunteered that he was a Trump supporter because he believed Trump would straighten out the VA or something like that. I honestly didn't even know what to say to him. This guy was such a lovely, sweet man, and still supported Trump because of some vague belief that Trump was on his side. Absolutely delusional, of course. But you know he's not the only one out there.

No. No, he was not. He may have been good at fooling people into thinking he was a lovely, sweet man, but he was not. The amount of harm caused by electing Trump, to anyone not white, rich, straight, cis and Christian, not to mention the planet, is going to be immense, and anyone who finds that acceptable is not "lovely and sweet".
