It’s a bit shocking to me that the Golden Globe winner didn’t get a SAG or Oscar nomination. The Oscar nominations this year felt extra weird; half predictable stuff and half “what the actual fuck are they smoking?”

Eh I wouldn't give yourself a hard time over impressions. Being a fangirl/fanboy or into fandom is a lot more mainstream nowadays that I like to think it's accepted that anyone could be a superfan for multiple reasons outside of 'not having a life'.
