Same, and I loathe the political purity test that the public puts celebrities through. Humans are full of contradictions, and actions speak louder than words.

Dolly Parton is my hero in this regard (and many others). Anyone asking her about her politics gets an emphatic "NOPE, not talking about it, period." And then she pours her money into the causes she believes in. That's class.

Dolly Parton is a PR masterclass.

Which is not to say that she's calculating or anything, at all. But I completely agree with your assessment and think that's the way to do it.

(She also has songs about growing up poor but cares about her town and state and isn't a sellout like JD Vance, who hasn't done shit to help his community and became a techbro-adjacent asslicker supreme.)
