Safety concerns and fascist CEO aside, I don't think it's the car's shape exactly that turns most people off. More that its shape doesn't fit the universal style rest of the real world it necessarily drives through.

Kinda like watching a 2d character walking down a 3d street. In the same way weirdo big headed bug eyed anime people look fine in a stylized world but would be creepy aliens if they were wandering around your local high school.

At this point the problem with the shape to me is not that it's low-poly so much as it's very awkward. The "frunk" (I do not like that neologism) is smaller than practical (not to mention the very snubbed nose makes the overall shape unbalanced) and the angled back creates some undercuts that make the truck bed less useful.

That said, I would like to see Musk dragged behind one until there's not much left but an ankle and a chain.

Those are more practical and mechanical concerns than aesthetic concerns though. I was talking about people's feelings on the aesthetics.

Not that I'd ever buy one of these, for said practical mechanical and musky concerns.

... I guess I thought my mention of the overly-stubby front end was enough of an aesthetic decision. To a lesser degree, changing the way the rear window and tonneau cover are angled could also have aesthetic advantages.

And that's not even getting into the aesthetic and usability hot mess that's the *interior*...
