I probably count as terminally online to some, as well as being trans, so I'm extremely familiar with JKR and the backlash against her, but I'm also surprised that OP seems to be surprised Harry Potter is still popular. Then again, being trans I may also be more aware than most terminally online people that the story of how the evil trans mob has managed to obliterate HP's popularity is just that, a story.
