My friend is. Other than me and one other person all of her 'friends' are online and her only real community is online. She gets so upset about weird things she assumes everyone knows about but I have to have her go back and explain because I am very out of the loop of fandom politics and celeb nonsense and general memery. It's funny to talk with her because I feel like we were both in the same place in our teens and twenties, same online spaces and shared in-jokes about those spaces etc, and I stopped hanging out online in my thirties+ but she doubled down and spent less and less time offline. I think it's a little sad but we've talked about it and she says she is genuinely happy with it so I assume it's just a matter of different life perspectives and figure I'm happy that she is happy.
