2. I feel your pain. My friends are into shoujo and comedy anime, I'm not, and trying to pull them into something I like once in a while always fails. Probably because I like series that take more than one braincell to understand, and we're all too damn ADD to sit down and concentrate on something.

4. I know the feeling, but to be honest? The "they're just being nice" thing is all in your head. If people are complimenting you and they don't sound like complete idiots while doing so (à la "omg ur reely gud i luv edgey"), it's probably legit. And I doubt any of them are comparing your skill to hers, too. At least, I never do anything like that.

3. This a secret comm, so people are going to automatically post anonymously. I just hope I'm not the asshole you're talking about, since I post anonymously to be honest or rag on people who seem to be assholes themselves but I try not to cross the line.
