I get something in my head and have to create to get it out. If no one likes it, I'm like Maleficent sitting at my desk going, "Oh, come on! That was funny!"

This. I write fic because I have to get it out of my head. I post if I'm happy enough with it and think someone else would like it, and I have plenty of WIPs I've enjoyed writing for myself, even if I never finish them. NGL, if I *never* got any interaction on the posted stuff, (hits, kudos, comments) I'd be disappointed. But I get enough to keep me satisfied. Even when a fic bombs, I know at least one other person laughed at it.
