I am the random anon that is trying to learn to crochet. After a couple of rough attempts I finally finished my first granny square that looks square and I am flush with the joy of success. So of course I go right to looking up actual projects and shopping for crochet gear. Spending money and buying gear is like a separate hobby to the actual hobby.
