Seconding every word of this. I'm happy to get comments when they come, certainly - it is nice to hear what people enjoyed about something I wrote or get into an in depth fandom discussion with other fans about the characters/ship/canon in question or things of that sort.

But yeah, I was writing stories before anyone outside of my family and teachers read them, simply 'cause I just love to write and tell stories. I'm just happy if somebody reads something I wrote in and of itself. If they choose to respond/react in some way to something I wrote after that, that's icing on the cake for me :).

(And if somebody didn't like something I wrote? Eh, it happens.)
