How much fanfic do you read? Maybe that plays a part in it as well.

I write about one fic a year, but I usually read 2-3 fics a day, I'd say. I might spend days trying to find a specific scenario explored in fic in a specific way to scratch my itch and when I absolutely don't find anything, I might be motivated enough to write it myself.

Then I post it because I figure that there might be someone else looking fruitlessly for this exact same thing too.

This is honestly why probably 95% of my fic gets written. What do you MEAN no one wrote a kinky sex scene set during that part of canon when the setup was RIGHT THERE? Guess I'm going to have to write it myself.
