You know what's weird? I don't think I've ever read a piece of fanfic twice. I've never saved or printed anything, because I never saw the need. I've bookmarked things on AO3, but it's because I feel like adding a bookmark onto a comment and kudos conveys that I really, really liked the piece, and could help give it a boost when others find it in a search. I never intend to actually read the story again.

Do you reread any books?

I am a huge rereader. There are some fic I return to again and again, but I do the same with books. I know some people are just a one and done type with everything they read.

AYRT

Yes, I do re-read books! I usually take years between re-reads, but I definitely do them.

Thinking about it, fic feels different, even when it's quite good. With fic, I'm trying to scratch a different itch than I am with original fiction, and satisfying it seems to only take one go.

Heh same. I just do not like rereading fanfiction. I do not enjoy rereading things period.

Tbf I read a wonderful fic yesterday, decided to leave a kudos annnnnd apparently I read it before. So thanks, memory, I've got to enjoy this fic twice

I don't often re-read fics. I can't recall the last time I downloaded a fic. And I bookmark fics I intend to read later. If it's taken off my bookmark list it means I read it.

I'm slowly realizing through FS that I'm probably not doing fandom right when it comes to fics lol

NAH, you're fine.
A lot of people are like you. If you go on the bookmarks section on Ao3, you can see that a lot people just write "TBR" or "chapter 2" in their bookmarks comments because 1) they don't know that public bookmarks have comments that can be read from anyone through the link in the fic 2) use it to keep tabs on what they are reading or want to read.
I personally find it hilarious (the comments are hilarious, not the method itself), but EH. I now have two eReaders and a method of keeping track of stuff honed through 20+ years of reading fics first on computer then on my nintendo DS (LMAO) then on my eReader.
Everyone is different. I just love reading fics when I'm lying down or sitting on my bed like they were books, hence my eReader.
