What is everyone doing?

We will FINALLY be out of (below) freezing weather so I'm really looking forward to going on some walks this weekend. Other than that, starting a new book and hoping to get some crocheting done. Plus playing with my sister as usual.

Good to hear your weather finally caught up with the calendar. Are you working on any specific crochet project?

I have to do some writing, so I'll probably put that off all weekend LOL. I just got a pair of jeans that fit PERFECTLY other than the length, so I'm going to hem those tomorrow. Also need to take the dog for an extra-long walk because it's been extra wintry here, too, and she's been horrifically cheated in that regard, poor baby.

I'm working on a (shitty) blanket and a little fungus guy. What kind of writing are you working on? Also....DOGGO!

Hahaha yes, DOGGO! We rarely get snow, but we got some midweek. She kept looking out the window and turning to look at us all concerned, like, "You see this, right? This isn't normal, right?" Bless her. She's so cute.

It's academic writing. Good times LOL.

A blanket is a huge project! IMO imperfections are what make crochet lovable. We have enough "perfect" mass-produced blankets. No doubt your "shitty" one will outlast them all.

Tomorrow I'm going out with my sisters. It's probably going to be on the cold side, but if the weather is good enough we want to take a stroll in the countryside. Then it's family dinner with my parents, nephew and uncles. It's going to be fun, but also emotionally taxing. So Sunday I will just spend the day by myself drawing and maybe rewatching the first Captain America movie. I need corny shit and miss "good" super hero movies.

Tomorrow, we're going to the home opener game of my state's soccer team. We got back one of our beloved former players from Newcastle in the EPL. It's going to be a blast welcoming him back - I know the stadium will be nuts.

Sunday, we're going to a cat convention/cat show.

Have fun at soccer! Also, CAT SHOW? Awesome! I've been to one dog show.

Resisting the urge to punch things. Getting a massage and mani/pedi tomorrow. Need it badly. Sunday my church is doing a table on immigration, handing out "know your rights" cards. I'll be sitting there all morning, answering any questions.

I’m making some throw pillows and possibly making curtains for the two oddly sized windows in the den. I’d rather just buy some but I have the perfect valances already (found a few years ago in a thrift shop) and I need something that will go with them.

Other than that, I’m making my way through a series of lectures on Vikings through The Great Courses on Hoopla. Hopefully I can listen to the lectures while I do all my embroidery and sewing but it rarely works out that way for me.

How are you making them? Crochet? Sewing? Knitting?

I’m sewing them. First I’ll embroider some designs on them with my 10 needle machine and then make the pillows. I also have a freestanding lace design I plan to make as a gift that I had forgotten about.

Was going to go over to my in-laws tomorrow to help with house chores, but they're sick. Will probably spend the time doing house chores and planning out this year's garden - hopefully baking some bread, too!

I'm reading Clown in a Cornfield so I can get it done before the movie is released. Hopefully it isn't terrible.

What are yall hoping to plant this year? And what kind of bread are you baking?

Ooh, it looks really interesting with the generational divide commentary - I've always wanted to try a horror book, but I'm usually an absolute scardey-cat (like, can't play Five Nights at Freddy's level scardey-cat). Checked it out from my library!

Last year our tomatoes and squash provided a surplus, but the peppers were a dud. I'm thinking more tomatoes, maybe cucumbers instead, and possibly green beans or broccoli, with some root vegetables in buckets?
Bread wise, I have a standard french loaf that's pretty good, but I might play with a recipe for sandwich bread and try to get that really sweet taste you get in storebought sandwich loaves.

A fantastic beginner horror author is T. Kingfisher (The Twisted Ones and The Hollow Places). I would not recommend Clown in a Cornfield. Even the opening chapter made me cringe. It was rough.

We had tons of tomatoes and peppers last year. The tomato plant got out of control.

Monday is going to suck for a lot of reasons probably, so I am going to use this weekend to distract me.
We are having decent winter at last, so I just need to do some good park walking. Also I have two galleries in mind, I need to use my new sparkling license (permit?) that gives me free pass.

I am going to a (local) musical✨ We are not exactly famous for musical theatre, this one is promised to be delightfully weird

I hope your Monday isn't as terrible as you think but if so, hopefully your weekend is good. Have fun at the galleries. :D It's awesome to live in places that have fun stuff like that.
