Back when the internet was brand new, I read a LA Confidential fic that had Exley ride off into the sunrise with Lynn and Bud. It was all about their life in Bisbee and how they managed to have polyamorous relationship in the 1950s. Having since lived in Bisbee, I’m convinced it was written by someone from that town. It was one of probably the first ten fics I ever read online and I think it about it all the time.
