Infidelity is a common thing. I think it's always been popular in media and for song writers in general to create music about cheating. Whether it's someone being cheated on or doing the cheating or being the third person...heck, TLC's "Creep" is about a woman who cheats on her boyfriend because he's cheating on her.

I agree with Left Eye when she said she hated the song because it was promoting infidelity and lacking the thing she would have preferred, which was to dump her cheating boyfriend!!
Even as a kid, dancing and singing along to this song, I'd wonder why the singer doesn't just dump her boyfriend.
