There's a point at which you have to ask yourself, "how closely related can two works be before it stops counting as a crossover?"

And it's a subjective question, so people will inevitably draw the line in different places. (e.g. is Pokémon anime/Pokémon Mystery Dungeon a crossover? They're both Pokémon, but the characters and setting are entirely different.)

I don't think there's a good way to handle that.
