I am usually Team Science all the way, and am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I actually don't believe in aliens or life or other planets. I love researching it, I love movies and books about it, but if asked if I think humanity will ever see an alien, my gut says no.

Yep. Ashamed of myself, lol.

I think there may or may not be aliens out there. But I think that either they'll have no interest in us or they also don't have the ability to travel between planets and will never get to Earth.

Life somewhere in the infinite universe? Big yes. Life we will meet or see or ever know about? Big no.

I'm inclined to "Life elsewhere in the universe? Probably quite a bit! *Complex* lifeforms? Not so much" ie probably lots of unicellular lifeforms and not much beyond that.

NAYRT, but that's my thinking on the subject too.

NAYRT but this is what I’ve always thought, too.

Those are typically considered two different things, though. Does life exist in the universe? Statistically, it's nearly impossible that it doesn't. But as the universe keeps expanding, our chances of ever meeting whatever cockroach-like organism is scuttling around on the seabed of a water planet grows smaller and smaller.

I'll never find the Vakarian to my Shepard. :(

I personally believe in alien algae. Sapient life? NO. But algae must be out there.

With how we understand evolution now, lots of reputable scientists believe the chances there are other sentient life forms in the universe (not some kind of life in some form) are very, very slim, for valid actual scientific reasons and not crazy or outdated beliefs.

Sorry, I meant statistically very slim (because how long it took and what steps it involved, in very particular environments, solar conditions, etc).
